ENGLISH In its latest toxic test, Greenpeace reveals the ranking of the world leading electronics firms according to their commitment to environment protection. As you can see in the chart below, Sony Ericsson and Samsung are leading the bunch, where Microsoft and Philips have pretty low scores. Please note that Nintendo got a zero because they didn't communicate any informations regarding their guidelines to Greenpeace. So next time you purchase an electronic device, consider buying a Samsung mobile instead of a Motorola one, or a Toshiba laptop instead of an Acer one, or a Sony LCD-TV instead of a Philips one, the environment will thank you :-)

AMD just got an investor from the Emirates. A subsidiary of Mubadala Development Company bought 49 million shares for 622 million US dollars.
Another reason for all arabs, muslims and friends of the palestinian cause to buy AMD products (ATi graphic cards included) instead of Intel products, which (as mentionned earlier in this blog) are now developed and produced in Israel.
By the way, AMD just released its Quad-Core processors, the Phenom X4 CPUs. They're finally up to the Core 2 Quad from Intel performance-wise and are attractively priced: about 170€ for the 2.2GHz version (Phenom 9500) and about 190€ for the 2.3GHz version (Phenom 9600); compared to about 240€ for the 2.4GHz Intel Core2Quand Q6600 CPU

Unbelievable but true! A turkish court has ordered Turk Telecom to block the access to YouTube, and you know why? Because Kamal Ataturk, founder of the turkish state, is being insulted on some YouTube videos!
This is so ridiculous! A man like Kamal Ataturk should be looked at as a traitor to muslim values and muslim culture. He's the one that banned arabic letters from the turkish language and forced women to wear so called "modern" clothing. Shame on him!
Turkish people nowadays have a great legacy that they couldn't explore and many of them lost the connection to their past because of this man!

Wegen ihm haben heute unzählige Türken keine Ahnung von deren mächtigen Erbe und keinen Anschluss mehr zu ihrer Vergangenheit.

9 episodes have been aired in Japan so far. The group "Eclipse" is subbing this show and is proposing 2 releases: a traditional XviD release, and an h.264 one. I recommend the second one, since it offers better quality. The show is one of the rare animes w/ 30fps, so prepare for some super fluid animation!
The h.264 release requires more CPU power though, so if your processor has less than 1GHz, you better get the XviD release.
The fastest software h.264 decoder available out there is CoreAVC by the way.

The summer is coming, and annoying mosquitos too! And guess what? You can chase them out of your room with a tiny little piece of software!! Yes, you heard it, with a software! This software produces ultrasounds via your standard PC speaker that mosquitos can't bear!
Just decompress the file to a directory of your choice and execute "moustique.exe". As human beings cannot hear ultrasounds, you'll have to test the software first. Click on "Aide", then on "Test". If you hear a melody, you're ready to go. If not, check your PC speaker volume. To activate the ultrasounds, click on "Activer". To stop them, click on "Désactiver".
I tried it last night and it has been a very quiet one ;)
PS: the software produces a quiet beep every 1 and a half seconds, this is normal.

L'été est à nos portes et les moustiques s'en félicitent! Alors quoi faire? Rien de plus simple! J'ai trouvé un petit programme qui va vous rendre la nuit plus belle! Il s'agit de "Anti-Moustique", un programme qui produit des ultrasons, inaudibles pour l'oreille humaine, mais très agassants pour les moustiques! Alors vous décompressez le fichier dans un répertoire de votre choix, et vous exécuter "moustique.exe". Puisque les ultrasons sont inaudibles pour nous, vous allez d'abord devoir tester votre configuration. Pour se faire, cliquez sur "Aide", ensuite sur "Test". Si vous entendez une mélodie, c'est que vous êtes prêt à massacrer les moustiques!! :D
Sinon vérifiez le niveau de volume du haut-parleur PC.
J'ai essayé le logiciel hier et ça marche à merveille!

Also, Archiv in einem Ordner Ihrer Wahl dekomprimieren, dann "moustique.exe" ausführen. Um zu überprüfen, ob das Programm richtig funktionniert, klicken Sie zunächst auf "Aide", dann auf "Test". Wenn Sie eine Melodie hören, dann sind Sie startklar. Ansonsten müssten Sie die Lautstärke des PC-Lautsprechers überprüfen.
Um Ultraschall zu produzieren, klicken Sie auf "Activer". Um ihn zu stoppen, klicken Sie auf "Désactiver".
Ich hab's letzte Nacht probiert, und es funktionniert tadellos, einfach wunderbar!

Tesla made it! It is an american roadster based on the Lotus Elise, but working with an electric motor and with 6831 batteries! It accelerates from 0 to 100km/h (60mph) in about 4 seconds (This is Ferrari level!!) and can reach 210km/h (130mph) top speed.
The batteries can be loaded in just 3 and a half hours, which consumes only 10KW. Based on a price of 20 eurocent per KW, this means only 2€ per charge. This means only 0,5€ per 100km, this is equivalent to a diesel car consuming only 0,5 liters of diesel per 100km, but with 0 emissions! This is the future my friends!
The batteries are to be changed every 160.000km. This means an average of 8 years.
Price: 100,000 US$ !

As you can see in the picture below, Intel is building a new factory in Kiryat Gat in Israel, the Fab28, for 3.5 billion US dollars!!
I appeal to all moslems and to the friends of justice all over the world that support the palestinian cause to boycott Intel products.
AMD processors are just as good and since their prices dropped lately, they have become very competitive.
For example, the AMD Athlon64 X2 6000+ costs now about 230€, which puts it between the Core2Duo E6400 @ 2,13GHz (~210€) and the E6600 @ 2,40Ghz (~270€).
Tests show that the X2 6000+ is at least as fast as the E6400 and sometimes even faster than the E6600.
For example, the X2 6000+ is about 8% faster in DivX encoding and about 14% faster in MP3 encoding (using LAME) than the E6400.
When encoding to H.264, the video format used in HD-DVD and Blu-Ray, the X2 6000+ is even faster than the E6600 by about 13%! (Using MainConcept's encoder).
As far as the mobile processors are concerned, The AMD Turion X2 is a perfect match to the Centrino Duo platform, especially to the mainstream CoreDuo processor (T2xxx)
So, GO BUY AMD, and down with Intel!

Les processeurs AMD sont devenus très compétitifs suite à la dernière baisse des prix. En effet, l'AMD Athlon64 X2 6000+ ne coûte maintenant que 230€ environ, le plaçant entre les Core2Duo E6400 @ 2,13Ghz (~210€) et l'E6600 @ 2,40GHz (~270€).
Les tests montrent que le X2 6000+ est au moins aussi rapide que le E6400 et parfois même plus rapide que l'E6600.
Par exemple, l'X2 6000+ est environ 8% plus rapide en encodage DivX et 14% plus rapide en encodage MP3 (en utilisant LAME) que le E6400.
En utilisant le MainConcept Encoder pour encoder en H.264, le format vidéo des HD-DVDs et des disques Blu-Ray, le X2 6000+ est même 13% plus rapide que le E6600!
